Backpacks and Stuff Sacks
Once you have sorted out all the kit you require for travelling and hiking, you need something to carry it in securely and safely. Suitcases are fine if you are not moving from your hotel room, but even then you will probably need a daysack for your sightseeing excursions. Most seasoned travellers and hikers will use backpacks and stuff sacks to keep their kit organised and secure when on the move. If you are taking young children on yoru adventure then there is the added responsibility of keeping them safe as well. If they can walk then you have the option of using a harness or a backpack with reins to keep them under control, but if they are too young to walk or tire easily, then a lightweight child carrier backpack will be ideal.
